Special Training for Filipino IT Professionals (FREE Japnese Lesson) - Closed

Requirements:

  • Filipino Citizen from Filipino owned or with Japanese partner software company. Companies that are non-Filipino or without Japanese affiliation are NOT eligible.
  • Applicant must be endorsed by their respective companies that are classified as IT related for acceptance.
  • Software Engineers or Management staff. Those who are currently or will be engaged with Japanese IT business, those who play core roles in their business.
  • Age between 23 to 50.
  • Must be able to attend all sessions.
  • Knowledge of Nihongo not required.
  • If an applicant fails to complete the training, AOTS reserves the right to charge the actual amount of the training materials and other miscellaneous expenses to the participant first and subsequently to the company.

All lectures will be done entirely in Japanese at the PHILNITS training room in Makati.

Those who pass with a grade of 70% or better will be given scholarship and sent for further training in Japan middle of January to february of 2006. So prepare your winter clothes.

This course is different from the regular FE course, This is designed for instructors/teachers and will acquaint participants with presentation skills and methods of drawing up course planning documents as well as teaching materials of the FE course, to enhance the participants' teaching skills through teaching exercises on the actual FE course.

The training expenses will be borne by AOTS through a special fund provided by METI, including cost of PC related equipment, text material and expenses for dispatching IT experts, including lunch and afternoon merienda. All other local expenses such as travel, accommodation, breakfast, dinner, pocket money, etc should be borne by the participants themselves.

Requirements to take the course

  1. The participant should be instructor or teaching staff or curriculum developers of IT training institutions, universities or any HRD related organizations that have IT related training courses. Students are not allowed to take this course.
  2. Participants should be university graduates or have experience equivalent in information technology or educational related subjects, and have at least 2 years experience as an instructor of IT-related subjects.
  3. Participants should have attended past FE or SW courses held in Jitse Philippines or equivalent knowledge of the Japanese Fundamental IT skill standard.
  4. Participants who have passed the Japanese Fundamental IT Examination or an equivalent qualification will be given priority.
  5. Participants should have programming experience in procedural languages, such as COBOL, FORTRAN, BASIC, C, PASCAL, ASSEMBLER etc.
  6. Participants should be between 25 and 45 years of age.
  7. Participants should have sufficient working knowledge of English.
  8. Those who are doing military service or work for military related organizations are not eligible.
  9. Should be physically and mentally fit.

Course Content

Session 1 - Participants will acquire presentation skills through self-presentation exercises.

Session 2 - Learn the basic cycle of creating an IT related training course

Session 3 - Exercises on preparing course plans, creating teaching materials and mock tests

Session 4 - Participants will learn important points of the FE examination.

Training and Location

All lectures and exercises will be conducted in English. Location Philnits branch Cebu City.

 

Software Design & Development (PHSW) - Closed

Target Participants: Engineers or staff in charge of Information Technology who are planning to take "Software Design and Development engineers Examination" and who would like to enchance their knowledge and skills in the field of "Software Design & Development Engineers Exam" as well as aquaint themselves with the general idea of the Information Technology Engineer Exam.

All lectures will  be done in English.

Requirements:

  • Be Engineers or Staff in charge of the IT field in their organizations, must be employed in a company or organization that is unaffiliated with any foreign capital companies, including Japan.
  • between 20 to 50 years old, physically and mentally fit to undergo an intensive training program
  • Have sufficient working knowledge of English
  • Have programming experience in procdural language such as C, Java, Cobol, Assembler, etc.
  • Not be doing military service or working for military related organizations
  • Be able to attend all the course throughout the six weeks.

Advanced IT Practical Training - CLOSED

Requirements :

a. Filipino Citizen between 20 to 60 years old, physically & mentally fit to undergo training.

b. University graduate or similar academic and/or work experience.

c. Must have sufficient proficiency in English and Japanese language.

d. Should be full time staff of organizations without foreign capital engaged in the development of information processing systems and software in the Philippines and sent by their employers. Those who work for organizations with Japanese equity participation are barred from this training.

e. Participants should not be students or armed forces.

f. Ex-AOTS trainees awarded training in Japan who have returned home within 6 months (183 days) are also not qualified.

Those who do not meet the above requirements need not apply.

Tickets for air travel to and from Japan including accomodation, meals and allowances will be provided by AOTS. Family members are not allowed to accompany participants to Japan for the entire duration of the training. Visa shall be "training visa" and fee must be paid for by participants themselves. AOTS may cancel the scholarship of participants who enter with the wrong kind of visa.

All lectures and excercises will be conducted in English. The program documents and training materials will be prepared in English

Qualifications of participants

  1. Should be IT engineers or staffs in charge of IT field in organizations
  2. Participants should be university graduates or equivalent in IT related subjects, and have 1-2 year experience in Systems Development
  3. Participants will be required the fundamental knowledge of programming language. and should have a sufficient working knowledge of the English language. It is more preferrable if participants have working knowledge of Japanese.
  4. Between 20 to 40 years old and should not be students, should not be in milittary service or work for military related organizations.
  5. Should be physically and mentally fit to undergo an intensive training program.

BRIDGE SE - System Engineer Training Course - CLOSED

Objective:

  1. Understand business customs in Japan and Japanese culture, history and society.
  2. To acquaint participants with the present situation of the IT industry in Japan, as well as how IT is currently applied to Japanese corporate management and new business.
  3. Understand the role of Bridge SEs
  4. Acquire project management techniques used in software development projects with Japanese IT companies.
  5. Read and write software development related documents.
  6. Communicate smoothly with Japanese IT engineers in software development projects.

Requirements to take the course

  1. Participants should be software development engineers who belong to an IT related company/organization that has already formed or is willing to form a business alliance with a Japanese company.
  2. Participants should have 3 years or more professional experience in the field of systems development.
  3. Participants should be recommended with an official recommendation letter from the designated local counterpart in their country (Jitse Philippines also known as Philippine National IT Standards Foundation Incorporated PHIL-NITS)
  4. Participants should be between 25 and 45 years of age.
  5. Participants should be university graduate and /or have equivalent professional experience.
  6. Participants should have sufficient working knowledge of spoken and written English. (having basic knowledge of Japanese language would be preferable)
  7. Participants should be in good physical health.
  8. Participants should not be students or armed forces personnel or its subsidiary.
  9. Participants who pass the JITSE exam will be given priority.
  10. Participants should not be employees working for foreign capital companies including Japanese affiliated companies.
  11. AOTS ex-participants who have recently been awarded an AOTS Scholarship and participated in an AOTS training program in Japan are not entitled to apply for any program which starts within six months (183 days) after they have returned home from Japan.
 

Training/Expenses, Method and Location:

All expenses to conduct this training program are borne by the Japanese Government (METI) and (AOTS). This includes cost of PC related equipment, text material and expenses for dispatching IT experts, including lunch and afternoon merienda. All other local expenses such as travel, accommodation, breakfast, dinner, pocket money, etc should be borne by the participants themselves

The program is divided into 2 parts as follows:

  1. General Orientation Course implemented by AOTS: 9 days
  2. Specialized Technical Training: 26 days

    Classes will be from Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30 PM.

ITAC-2 The Program for IT Engineers in Asean Countries Course

Training will be held in Tokyo Japan from September 22, 2005 to November 4, 2005   (Open Max 6 participants).

  1. To acquaint participants with the present situation of  IT policy and the IT industry in Japan, as well as how IT is currently applied to Japanese corporate management and new business and,
  2. To enhance the participants' skills and capabilities in information systems development, and furthermore to enable them to be leaders in information systems development projects in their countries.

Requirements to take the course :

  1. Participants should be persons who are expected to be leaders in information systems development projects in their countries.
  2. Participants (programmers) should have 3 to 5 years experience in the field of systems development. (Junior systems engineers)
  3. Participants should be recommended with an official recommendation letter from the designated local counterpart in their countries. For Philippines, Philippine National IT Foundation Inc (PHILNITS) formerly knows as Jitse Philippines.
  4. Participants should be Filipino citizens and between 20 to 50 years old.
  5. Participants should be university graduates and/or have equivalent professional experience.
  6. Participants should have a sufficient working knowledge of spoken and written english. (having basic knowledge of Japanese would also be preferable.)
  7. Participants should be healthy enough to undergo an intensive training program in Japan.
  8. Participants should not be students or armed forces personnel.
  9. Must already pass the Information Technology Engineers Examination (FE Examination)

NOTE:

  1. Family members are not allowed to accompany the participants to Japan.
  2. Participants shall not request AOTS or JIPDEC to arrange, nor arrange by themselves, any additional programs, and shall not leave Japan and return to their countries soon after the completion of the program.

Contents:

This program is divided into two parts as follows:

  1. General Orientation Course implemented by AOTS: 9 days
  2. Specialized Technical Training implemented by JIPDEC: 5 weeks

Training/Expenses, Method and Location:

All necessary expenses to accommodate this training program are borne by the Japanese Government (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry -METI) and AOTS.

This includes medical expenses in accordance with the relevant AOTS medical regulations. Accommodation and meals in kind, personal allowance and baggage allowance in Japanese Yen.

Direct route round trip economy class air ticket between an international airport specified by AOTS in the participant's home country and Japan will be arranged and purchased by AOTS. Domestic transportation expenses in the participant's home country are not included.
