What is CICC?

The Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC) was founded in June 1st, 1983 under the cooperation of Japanese Governmental agency (Ministry of  International Trade and Industry; presently (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and enterprises related to computerization. The purpose of the CICC foundation is to implement cooperation activities for promoting computerization in developing countries. To upgrade the skill level of IT personnel in developing countries, CICC has offered IT training courses as one of its core activities since its establishment.

Course Overview:

This course is designed to train system engineers who understand Japanese language and business custom, and play a role of a "Bridge" to establish business alliances between the Japanese and Filipino IT industries. This course introduces the concept of the project life cycle, from planning to delivery, and project management. It provides lectures and practical training in detail for each process of the life cycle based on the proven concepts used in Japanese business organizations, including Japanese culture and customs.

Course will run from November 7 to December 2, 2005 (4 weeks)

Goals:

Upon completion of the course, the trainee should be able to:

(1) Understand Japanese business manners, negotiation concepts and contracts with their Japanese counterparts.

(2) Understand the user needs accurately and be able to submit proposals for system development.

(3) Understand technique of system analysis and definition of  user requirements.

(4) Understand management for a system development project as a project leader.

Requirements:

  1. Must be employed in Japanese-affiliated companies that plan on establishing a business relationship between Japan and Philippines.
  2. Be familiar with operation of Windows 98 or later, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  3. Have more than 3 years software development experience.
  4. Have skill of grade 3 of the Japanese Language Examination or equivalent level of the skill.
  5. Preferably pass Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination implemented by JITSE-Phil or JITEC.
  6. Have University education or an equivalent level of education.
  7. Be employed in the same organization during the course period and must be in a position where the results of the training can be put to practical use.
  8. Not be students or serving in the Military.
  9. Be in good health.
  10. Between age 25 and 45.
  11. Be present at more than 90% of the program.

Those who do not meet the above requirements NEED NOT apply.

  2. Company Brochure or Explanatory Note, Please attach a brochure or note explaining activities of the company that applicants belong to. The brochure or note should be written in English, and the note should be written on the company letterhead. 
  3. Copy of Passport or ID card

Training method:

All lectures and discussions will be conducted in Japanese and partially in English. The program documents and training materials will be prepared in Japanese and English. Trainees who have successfully completed the course will be awarded a certificate issued by CICC and PhilNits.
