Mutual Recognition Agreement Signing between the Japan IT Engineers Examination Center (JITEC),

Jitse Society (now called Philnits Society) composed of all passers was registered with the Security & Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines.

Obtained Phil. National Standard - PNS 2030:2003 Information Technology Engineers Skills Standards

Ministry of Justice of Japan recognized JITSE as the Philippine Nihon Joho Gijutsu Hyojun Shiken Zaidan. The FE Certificate, can now be used as a valid document for processing the work visas of IT professionals bound for Japan.

JITSE-Phil changed its name to PhilNITS Foundation to correct the misconception that the standards being implemented only for the Japanese market but for Asia.

Cebu office opened

ITPEC was formed with Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailad and Vietnam as members.

Davao office opened

IPA introduced to ITPEC member countries the TOP GUN program for FE and AP where the top examinee gets an all expense paid tour of Japanese companies in Japan.

Philnits Corporation was formed

Informatix Inc. of Japan and the PhilNITS Foundation Inc.  implemented the JICA  Survey Project on Disaster and Risk Reduction Management for the Province of Pangasinan,  and the Municipalities of Binmaley and Lingayen, and the City of Dagupan
